Tālpura: Ancient Buddhist Site in Madhya Pradesh

Around 15 km from YJR at Tālpura there’s an ancient Buddhist site. It is located on a hill overlooking the Narmada River and dates back to the early centuries BCE.
The site has two stupas, one of which has a stone railing decorated with lotus designs similar to those at Sanchi. Near the stupas is a rock shelter with old paintings, showing the art and culture of that time.
Tālpurā is listed as a Monument of National Importance and is protected by the Archaeological Survey of India. It is a peaceful place that reflects India’s rich Buddhist heritage.
